Police are investigating an aggravated robbery on Heretaunga Street East, Hastings early this morning.
A 77-year-old male is in hospital with serious injuries following the incident.
At approximately 12:30am two females broke into his home, assaulted the man and stole his vehicle.
Police ask that people keep an eye out for his car which is a green and silver 1996 Toyota Carib station wagon, registration YH6964.
