Police investigating death of man in Hawke's Bay

A man who fell from his wheelchair when it stopped during a half-marathon in Hawke's Bay on Saturday, has died as a result of his injuries.
 
Samuel Gibson died in hospital on Monday morning. Police are now investigating his death on behalf of the coroner.
 
Mr Gibson's family would like to thank Hawkes Bay hospital staff for their care of Samuel since his admission on Saturday. The family would also like to thank the organisers of the HB International Marathon and one of the event sponsors, namely Air New Zealand, for their support.
