Hawke’s Bay Police are investigating a serious assault which occurred at a local holiday park shortly before 8am this morning.
Police were called to the incident at the Hastings TOP 10 Holiday Park and arrived to find a man with serious injuries.
Detective Sergeant Darren Pritchard says it’s believed a weapon was used in the attack.
“A number of people were present at the time of the assault and we are speaking with them as part of our enquiries.”
The 23-year-old victim is currently undergoing surgery at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
