Police looking for help to locate weapon used in Cromwell stabbing

Police are looking for help from the public in locating the weapon used in a stabbing at a Cromwell address over the weekend.

It is believed a hunting style knife was used in the attack with a blade measuring 150mm long and 25mm wide. The knife may have been dumped in the area of Antimony Crescent, Waenga Drive and Wishart Crescent.

Anyone who may find a knife fitting this description in the area is asked to hand it into the Cromwell Police Station.

Immediately following the incident a Cromwell man was arrested, he remains in custody and will appear in Queenstown District Court on Monday 27 June.

The victim of the stabbing remains in hospital in a stable condition.
