Police make arrests in relation to aggravated robberies in Tauranga

Police have arrested a 16-year-old Tauranga youth who will appear in the Tauranga Youth Court on Thursday 11th August 2016 in relation to an aggravated robbery of the Brookfield Superette on Friday 5th August 2016.

A 24-year-old Tauranga man has also been arrested and will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Tuesday 9th August 2016 charged with the aggravated robbery of the Cameronian Dairy on 17th July 2016 and the 14th Ave Dairy on the 18th July 2016.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner says “Good old fashioned detective work went into solving these robberies and we would like to thank the community for coming forward and helping us solve these offences.”

Police continue to try and identify the persons responsible for the aggravated robbery of Brookfield Superette on the 9th July and the Busy Bee Dairy in Mount Maunganui on 6th August 2016.  If anyone has any information in relation to these robberies, they are encouraged to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
