Police can now confirm the body found yesterday in the Waikato River was that of William Rex Sim.
The 77-year-old from Hamilton was reported missing last week.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and next of kin have now been advised.
Police would like to thank everyone who assisted in the search for William Rex Sim. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this time.
As the matter has now been referred to the Coroner, Police have no further comment.
