Counties Manukau Police have released footage of the last known sighting of a missing 60-year-old Chinese woman.

Yaqin Wu went missing on April 27. She entered New Zealand with a tour group on Sunday and was staying at the Heartland Hotel in Airpark Drive in Mangere.

CCTV footage released today shows her leaving the Heartland Hotel foyer around 2.55am (the time pictured on the camera is incorrect) on April 27. She was wearing a waist length red jacket, a white wide-brimmed hat and carrying a white backpack. She is 150cm tall and a slim build.

This is the last known sighting of Yaqin Wu and Police are continuing a number enquiries to try and locate the missing woman. A Police Ethnic Liaison Officer has been in constant contact with Yaqin Wu’s family back home in China.

Police are also releasing an updated photo of Yaqin Wu which her family has provided.

Her family are concerned for Yaqin Wu’s mental wellbeing and she had made comments to members of the tour group that have caused Police to also hold fears for her mental wellbeing.

Search and Rescue continue to scour the area around the Heartland Hotel, including searching nearby parks and reserves.
Yaqin Wu does not speak any English and is not believed to know anyone in New Zealand.

Anyone who may have seen her is asked to please contact the Counties Manukau Police District Command Centre on 09 263 2709.
