Police seek driver after alleged assault in Ellerslie

Auckland Police are investigating a serious assault which is alleged to have taken place after a minor road incident in Ellerslie on Thursday.

A 27 year old woman is still in hospital following the incident which happened at around 8.10am on Thursday 15 October on Main Highway, Ellerslie near Robert Street.

The woman was struck by a vehicle after getting out of her car to speak to the driver following a minor traffic incident.  She suffered serious injuries.  The driver of the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene and Police are now looking for this person. 

Police are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage from the area with a view to identifying this driver. The vehicle is thought to be black and possibly an Audi.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, and for the driver of this vehicle to come forward.
