Police investigating a serious crash near Taupo on Sunday (27 September) are hoping to identify further witnesses.
The crash occurred on State Highway 1 south of Taupo near Hatepe Hill at approximately 5.10pm.
Initial investigations indicate one vehicle crossed the centreline, for reasons still to be established, resulting in a three car collision.
Two men and a woman remain in Waikato Hospital; the woman is in a serious condition. Another man was taken to Rotorua Hospital and is expected to be discharged in the near future.
Traffic was quite busy at the time, so it is possible there are further witnesses that the police have not yet identified.
