Police seek information on Queenstown assault

Queenstown Police are investigating an assault which occurred on the corner of Shotover and Stanley Streets around 1.00am this morning.

A young male has been approached by three males and was assaulted before a bystander has come to his aid.

The three males are described as Maori between the ages of 18-20 years.

The first male was described as being tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a red t-shirt with large white writing on the front.

The two other males were described as being of a medium build and height. One of the males were wearing a mid blue t-shirt and jeans.

After the assault, all three males have run towards Ballarat St along Stanley St.

Police are keen to speak with the male who came to the aid of the victim. He has been described as being in his 50’s and wearing a black polo shirt.

We are also keen to speak with anyone who may have seen this assault or know who these individuals are.
