Palmerston North Police are seeking information relating to a second vehicle of interest in the Whetu Hansen homicide investigation.
The vehicle is described as a 1981 mint green Mitsubishi wooden flat deck ute.
Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison says: "This vehicle has recently come up as part of our inquiries and we believe that it may play an important role in helping us solve this investigation."
Police want to speak to anyone that saw the vehicle in the wider Palmerston North Area between Saturday the 23rd of November and Thursday the 5th of December, 2013.
"It's quite a distinctive ute and we believe that someone would have seen it between the 23rd of November to the 5th of December. If you have seen this vehicle or have any other information that could help with our investigation please contact Police."
Earlier this week a search warrant was executed at Mr Hansen's property in Whanganui. The purpose of the warrant was to locate any evidence that may indicate his movements up until his disappearance and some items have been removed for analysis.
The scene examination at the Linton property is in its final stages and is expected to be completed by tomorrow afternoon.
"We have had some valuable information from the public so far, of which we are grateful for but we call upon their assistance again in light of this second vehicle. I encourage anyone that has any information about this vehicle to contact Police," says Detective Senior Sergeant Harrison.
