Police statement following sentencing of Mauha Fawcett

1 min read

The conviction and sentencing of Mauha Fawcett is a significant step in the inquiry into the murder of Ngatai Lynette (Mellory) Manning.

There is, however, no dispute that other people were also involved in this murder, and Police are continuing to actively pursue those individuals.

This remains an open and active investigation. We continue to appeal for information and assistance from members of the public to help Police identify other offenders, and bring them to justice.

Police would like to express thanks to all those witnesses who had the courage to come forward and give evidence in this trial.

We also again extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Mallory Manning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Christchurch police on (03) 3637400.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer
