Police welcomes today's Independent Police Conduct Authority report which vindicates Detective Inspector Grant Wormald.
"The Authority's report finds absolutely no evidence to support allegations of perjury by Mr Wormald, when giving evidence during judicial review proceedings brought by Mr Dotcom" says Assistant Commissioner Malcolm Burgess.
"The report finding also supports Police's earlier investigation of these allegations which found them to be without foundation.
"Mr Wormald is an extremely experienced and dedicated career Police officer, with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. His service to the organisation has been exemplary over a career spanning more than 30 years.
"The allegations, when made, subjected Detective Inspector Wormald to intense media speculation and baseless, ill-informed commentary about his integrity.
One can only hope equal prominence will be given to coverage of the Authority's report exonerating Mr Wormald." said Mr Burgess.
