Search for divers near Bluff harbour mouth

1 min read

At approximately 1pm today Police received a call from a member of the public that they'd seen two divers swept out in the current near the Bluff harbour mouth.

The Coastguard and a boat from South Port are out searching the water, and Search and Rescue are working to get a helicopter up.

Police have since also received a report of two people leaving the water in the area and need to confirm if these are the divers earlier reported as being swept out in the current.

If you have been diving in the area today, or have friends and family diving in the area today, please contact Southland Police on 03 211 0400.
