Police and LandSAR teams are heading into the Blue Mountains north of Clydevale, near Balclutha, as they search for a hunter who has not returned.
The man was hunting in a small group yesterday, and while his companions returned around 2pm, the man did not come out of the bush with them.
Police were notified around 11 this morning by the man's hunting companions. It’s understood the man had basic hunting gear but was not prepared to be out overnight, in what has been very cold conditions.
