Search for hunter near Balclutha - UPDATE 4

1 min read

The search for a hunter missing in the Blue Mountains since Saturday is continuing this morning.

Fresh Search and Rescue teams have just been deployed to search the bush area near Balclutha, along with a specialist search dog. If weather conditions allow a helicopter will also join the search.

Constable Murray Hewitson says they’ve narrowed down the area to concentrate on today.

“Weather conditions in the area are cold and drizzly so the man would have faced a cold night. Obviously we want to find the hunter as soon as possible because we’re concerned for his health and safety, especially as time goes on.”

“Last night’s search was hard work in dark and wet conditions so we’re hopeful we’ll have more luck today,” says Constable Hewitson.
