1 min read

There is currently a large Police attendance around the Glen Eden Railway Station, following a robbery on the North Shore just before 3.15pm.

Four people have been arrested however two remain outstanding and a large number of Police are currently searching in the Glen Eden and West Auckland areas.

The information available at this time is that a number of offenders have carried out a robbery at a shop on Sunnybrae Road in Hillcrest.

The offenders have then fled in a stolen car. Police have sighted the car and signalled for it to stop, but the driver has failed to do so and has continued to drive.

The car has been pursued by Police to west Auckland, where officers have managed to stop it using road spikes.

The occupants of the car have then got out and fled on foot but have been chased by Police officers. Four people have been taken into custody.

Another two people are still believed to be outstanding.

A large number of Police units, including dog section and the Eagle helicopter are continuing to search around the Glen Eden Railway Station area.

Some cordons are in place in this immediate area.

More information will be provided when it is available and confirmed.
