Serious Assault in New Plymouth

New Plymouth Police are investigating an assault that occurred on Currie Street, central CBD, New Plymouth, around 3am this morning. The victim has suffered serious injuries and is currently in a serious condition in Wellington Hospital.
Investigators are seeking the assistance of the public to piece together the events surrounding this incident. We would like to speak to anyone that witnessed the event or that may have information that would assist in the enquiry.
