Police Serious Crash Investigators and emergency services are still in attendance at a serious crash near Cascade Creek on the Te Anau Milford Highway, in Fiordland.
One woman from the vehicle has died as a result of the crash. A second woman from the vehicle sustained serious injuries and is being transported to hospital by helicopter.
The highway is still blocked in both directions and there are no detours available. It is hoped that the road will be open soon but motorists should expect continued delays until the crash scene has been cleared.
A serious crash investigation has been commenced into the cause of the crash.
