Motorists are being warned to expect significant delays on State Highway 1 following a serious crash at Fisherman's Table earlier today.
The road was closed in both directions after a car and a truck were involved in a collision around midday.
Although SH1 has since reopened, there are still severe delays - particularly for northbound traffic. The earlier diversion route over Paekakariki Hill Road is also heavily congested.
Police would like to thank motorists in advance for their patience.
