1 min read

Southern Police are warning motorists to take extra care on roads in the Otago and Southland areas this morning after snow fell overnight.

Snow has settled in the hill suburbs in Dunedin and a number of streets around Dunedin city are affected by black ice.

Police have attended a number of  vehicle crashes this morning in Dunedin due to the icy conditions.

Police advise against unnecessary road travel in those areas affected by snow and ice until the road conditions improve.

Motorists are urged to drive according to the road conditions, watching their following distances and being mindful of black ice.
