Suspicious fire in Greymouth at Westfleet Wharf

Greymouth Police were called to a suspicious fire at 2.05am this morning -10 May 2016, on a boat moored at the Westfleet Wharf in Gilbert Street, Greymouth.  The boat is a fishing vessel and was extensively damaged.  Police are unsure how the blaze started and are conducting a scene investigation today along with Fire Safety Officers.

No one was on board the boat and inquiries are continuing today to establish how the fire started.  Greymouth Police would like anyone with any information to call the Greymouth Station on 03 768 1600 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.  They would also like anyone who was in the vicinity of the Westfleet Wharf during the early hours of the morning to contact them.
