Suspicious fire Paratutu rock, New Plymouth

At about 9.30pm last night the fire service and police attended a fire on the sea side face of Paratutu rock near New Plymouth.

Police received reports from witnesses of a group of people on the rock setting of fireworks at around the time of the fire.

Detective Simes of New Plymouth CIB would like to speak with anyone from that group or anyone that may have information that would assist to identify members of that group.

With temperatures still high and vegetation very dry please take extra care when using anything that may be an ignition source in outside areas.
