Tairua tramper's body identified

Waikato Police working to identify a body found on a popular Coromandel walking track on Wednesday say relatives have confirmed the man's identity.

Sergeant Damien O'Kane of the Tairua Police said the deceased has been identified as a 50-year-old Rotorua man.

"He was identified in Waikato Hospital last night and Police would like to extend our sympathies to the man's family for their loss.

"Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances in relation to the death which has been reported to the Coroner."
