Thames sudden death update II

1 min read

Waikato Police investigating the sudden death of a man in Waikato Hospital on Sunday night after he suffered injuries at a Thames address earlier that day believe it may be several days before they know if his death was suspicious.

Area Manager Investigations, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Whitehead, of the Waikato CIB said Police had received an interim post-mortem result into the death of 49-year-old Michael Brett GODWIN but that report had identified the need for further testing to be conducted.

"For that reason, any decision on what, if any charges may be laid in relation to Mr GODWIN'S death will need to be deferred until such time as the findings of those further examinations have been reached."

Mr Whitehead said Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to Mr GODWIN'S death.
