Three arrested following burglary in Mission Bay

1 min read

Swift reporting and a quick response from Police has seen three people put before the Court for their alleged role in a burglary in Mission Bay this week.

Police responded to reports of the burglary at a property on Patteson Avenue around 4am on Thursday 4 May.

Upon arrival, the victims were able to provide a brief description of those involved, as well as a tracking location to one of the items taken during the burglary.

This turned out to be the key link – with Police locating the alleged offenders at a nearby location in less than an hour, where they were taken into custody without incident.

Three males, aged between 29 and 36, have appeared in the Auckland District Court later that day – 4 May - and are due to reappear later this month.

Auckand City East Area Prevention Manager, Inspector Rachel Dolheguy, says this is a fantastic result, which saw the victims working closely with Police.

“From immediately reporting the incident to the victims liaising with Police early to provide information, we were able to locate those believed to be involved extremely quickly.

“We hope these arrests provide the community with reassurance that Police are actively responding to calls to service as they arise and holding those responsible to account.”

Inspector Dolheguy says we encourage people to get in touch with Police as soon as possible after an incident has happened.

“If it is happening now or has just happened, please call 111.

“To report an incident after it has occurred, please get in touch via our 105 service.”
