Tourists assaulted in Christchurch

Two male tourists were attacked by a group of up to 8 people in the driveway of their backpackers accomodation in Worcester Street, Christchurch.
 
Both males have been admitted to hospital.  One male suffered a broken jaw during the attack whilst the other has suffered serious eye injuries.
 
The attack occured between 2:30 and 2:45am on Saturday 1st August.  Police are seeking any information from anyone who may have knowledge of this incident.  Please contact Canterbury Police 03 363 7400 and ask for Detective Marc BOODEE.
