Tuakau missing children - update

1 min read

Police are continuing their search for two children who left their address in Tuakau overnight.

15-year-old Te Morehu McLean and his 7-year-old sister Anahera McLean were reported missing from their caregiver’s address in Potter Rd, Tuakau, around 10pm last night. They left with a large suitcase on foot and have not been seen since.

Inspector Kay Lane says an active search is underway.

“Police staff are continuing to search the wider Tuakau area this morning and speaking with neighbouring property owners, to check their sheds and outbuildings. Eagle has also conducted a search of the area this morning.

“While the pair left on foot we are looking into the possibility they may have been picked up in a vehicle by someone known to them.

“We believe they may be heading north towards Auckland where they have extended family and would like to hear from anyone who has information about their whereabouts that may help us find them,” says Inspector Lane.

Te Morehu is described as Maori, 5 foot 7 inches tall of solid build and with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing Nike shoes, light brown coloured pants and a Kathmandu puffer jacket.

Anahere is described as Maori, of average height and small build. She was last seen wearing a “Frozen” branded onesie.

People can provide information to Counties Manukau Police on 09 261 1300 or contact 111 if they see the pair.
