TV appeal hopes to identify Rotorua attacker

Rotorua Police is hoping that an appeal on crime show Police Ten-7 will help to identify the person responsible for an attack on a woman in the town earlier this month.

The attack, which is believed to have been sexually motivated, occurred at approximately 6.40pm on Saturday, 2 May on Wharenui Road, between Te Ngae Road and Reeve Road.

The woman was pushed to the ground and knocked unconscious and when she came to, she managed to fight back causing him to run off along Te Ngae Road.

Anyone who might be able to assist with this investigation is encouraged to watch the appeal tonight at 7,30pm on TV2 (Thursday, 21 May).
