Two arrested following aggravated robbery and pursuit

Police have arrested two 16 year-old males in relation to an aggravated robbery at a dairy on Division Street in Christchurch last night. 

Three offenders entered the store at approximately 5:20pm armed with a baseball bat and a firearm. They stole cash and cigarettes. 

The offenders were later located in a stolen vehicle, the driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. It ended on Avondale road at approximately 10.20pm where both occupants were apprehended and taken into custody. 

They have been charged with a number of offences and will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow. 

Police are continuing enquiries to locate the third offender involved in the robbery. 

As this matter is now before the courts Police is unable to comment further.
