Two men arrested following aggravated robbery in Hamilton

Two men are due to appear in the Hamilton District Court today following the aggravated robbery of the Holland Road Superette in Hamilton last night.

Police were notified at about 6:50pm that a person had entered the superette armed with a knife and threatened the shop owner.

The person stole cigarettes and money before leaving the area in a vehicle.

The shop owner was shaken by the incident but was fortunately not injured.

The vehicle was located by Police a short time later, and the two occupants arrested.

Waikato Police are committed to holding violent offenders to account and ensuring that our communities are safe and feel safe.

This was a traumatic incident for the business owner, and they are being offered support.

A 30-year-old man is due to appear in the Hamilton District Court today facing one charge of aggravated robbery. A 40-year-old man is facing charges of aggravated robbery, driving while suspended and failing to stop.
