Update: Aggravated Robbery –Ti Rakau Liquor

1 min read

Counties Manukau Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the media and the public for their assistance with our investigation into the aggravated robbery at Ti Rakau Liquor on the 5th of July. The offenders have been identified thanks to calls from the public and are in the process of being located.

Note to media:

The suspects are aged 14 – 16 and will be subject to Youth Court proceedings. Section 438 of the CYPFS Act makes it an offence to publish any particulars likely to lead to the identification of a child/young person subject to Youth Court proceedings without the leave of the Youth Court.

In these circumstances the age/identity of the offenders was unknown when the footage was released so the Police and Media have acted appropriately in releasing/airing the footage.

However now that the identity of the offenders is known and they will be subject to Youth Court proceedings, Police would advise the media to consider removing any online footage or blurring any identifying features.
