Update on Coronation Road, Mangere incident

1 min read

Three young men who were the subject of a Police response this afternoon in Coronation Road, Mangere remain outstanding.

A large number of Police units including the Eagle Helicopter and dog patrols rushed to the area at around 2.30pm this afternoon, after several members of the public called to say they had seen three young men on pushbikes, with what was thought to be a firearm.

Despite cordons being put in place, and numerous ground and air searches of the wider area, the trio were not located.

Enquiries are continuing and anyone who may know the identity of the young men, who are described as Maori or Pacific Islanders,  in their mid to late teens and wearing sports clothing such as trackpants and a hoody, is asked to contact the Counties Manukau Police on 09 261 1300.

Information can also be given anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
