UPDATE: Fatal crash in Huntly

1 min read

Waikato Police can now confirm the ages of the three people who died in yesterday’s crash in Huntly.

A 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, and a 54-year-old man died at the scene.

A woman and a young girl were also in the car. The woman is in a serious condition and the young girl is stable in hospital.

While family members are still being informed, Police are not in a position to release names at this stage.

Inspector Freda Grace, Road Policing Manager for Waikato District, says this crash is yet another reminder to drive safely:

“This means driving within the speed limits and to the conditions.

“Drivers must be fit for the road, which means being well-rested and focussed.

“Too often, a moment of fatigue or distraction has tragic consequences.

“While the investigation into the cause of the crash continues, our thoughts are with the family and friends of all those involved.”
