Waikato Police attending two crashes

Waikato Police are in attendance at two crashes in separate parts of the district, and there are road closures and diversions in place.

The first happened at the corner of Baber Street and Parry Palm Road in Waihi, just before 1.50pm today, between a car and a truck.
The driver of the car has been transported to hospital by helicopter in a critical condition.
Diversions are in place.
The second collision involved three vehicles, and happened around 2.15pm on State Highway 1 at Karapiro, about 1km north of the SH29 turnoff to Tauranga.
Emergency services are working to clear the road as quickly as possible to allow one lane of traffic access.
There are injuries but none are life threatening.
There are no diversions in place and motorists are asked to drive with patience.
