"Police arrest six suspects involved in Wellington City convenience store robbery"

Five males and a female have been arrested and charged in regards to the aggravated robbery of a 24-hour convenience store in central Wellington.

About 1.50am yesterday morning (09/01/15), five youths and one adult entered a 24-hour convenience store on Manners Street and assaulted the male employee with a "pipe-like" object. Money was taken from the cash register before the group fled on foot.

As a result of the assault the store employee received abrasions to his left ear and a lump to his head.

The five youths have been granted bail and the adult has been remanded in custody. All will re appear in the Wellington Youth Court on Tuesday the 13th of January 2015.
