1 min read

Police are seeking further information from the public regarding a serious assault which occurred around 7.50pm on Sunday 15 May in Miramar, Wellington.

The assault occurred after a 15-year-old girl got off a Go Wellington bus at the intersection of Park Road and Miramar Avenue carrying a back pack and a shopping bag. She noticed a thin male in black clothing, including a top with a hood across the road near the shops.

As she walked down Miramar Avenue a second man wearing white clothing walked past her.

She then entered a walkway that runs between Mander Place and Otaki Street and was seriously assaulted by the first man wearing black.

The second man is considered to be a witness in this matter and may be able to provide police with information about the victim and the other man dressed in black clothing.

Other passengers on the bus may also recall seeing the man wearing black, and Police encourages anyone with information to please make contact with Detective Tim McIntosh at Wellington Central Police Station on 04 381 2000. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through the organisation Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
