1 min read

Around 5am Sunday morning Whanganui Police received reports of a stolen vehicle.

Shortly after, multiple alarms went off at BP2GO on Taupo Quay.

Police responded to the alarms within two minutes and discovered the stolen vehicle with significant damage and damage to the shop front. It appears two people have attempted to ram raid the shop, however after ramming the shop, the car has rolled down a slope colliding with a bowser.

The alleged offenders have run off taking a small amount of chocolate.

CCTV footage of the area provided a description of the alleged offenders and Police searching the area found them nearby, approximately 30 minutes later.

A 14 year old and 16 year old will be charged with burglary and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and will be dealt with by Youth Aid.
