Members of the Otara Neighbourhood Policing Team were out to help celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Fo Guang Temple in Botany on Thursday.

Today (Friday 12 February) marks the start of the Lunar New Year and ushers in the Year of the Ox.

After weeks of practice, the team performed a lion dance for those in attendance and were, by all accounts, a hit with the crowd.

“Trust and confidence has been enhanced and a positive lasting impression has been left," says Counties Manukau East Area Commander Inspector Wendy Spiller. "I couldn’t be more proud of the team and all the hard work they put into the performance.”
