A man will appear in court later today charged with the murder of 3-year-old Kash McKinnon.
Kash died at Palmerston North Hospital on Thursday, August 20, the day after being found with head injuries at a house in Hulme Street, Palmerston North.
This morning a 21-year-old man from Palmerston North has been charged with murder and will be appearing at Palmerston North District Court this afternoon. Police will be opposing bail.
The parents of Kash have been informed of the charges.
A team of about 12 officers had been working on the investigation. This has now been scaled down to approximately six officers who will oversee the remaining enquiries and the prosecution.
