Three males will appear in court this afternoon after a 14 year old youth was badly assaulted in town last night.
Detective Sergeant John Gallagher says he believes the 14 year old boy was subjected to a prolonged assault between midnight and 5am on and near Kivers Lane in the central city. He is currently under observation in hospital.
Two males aged 20, 18 will appear in the Christchurch District Court this afternoon and the 15 year is remanded to the Youth Court, all charged with injuring with intent to cause Grievous Bodily Harm and kidnapping.
