1 min read

Waikato Police investigating the suspicious death of a Morrinsville toddler early yesterday morning are working to ensure all relatives have been informed before the young girl can be identified.

The 22-month-old girl was taken to Waikato Hospital early on Saturday afternoon suffering serious injuries and later died overnight.

A post-mortem was carried out on the girl in Auckland yesterday and investigators are awaiting the results of further tests before they can establish the exact cause of death.

These tests are expected to take several days.

The death has been referred to the coroner.

Due to the notification issues and the timelines involved with the completion of the aforementioned tests no further information will be made available today.
