Waikato Serious Crash Unit investigators are on their way to the scene of a crash in the Coromandel in which a man has been killed.
Police are working to establish just what occurred in the crash which left a four-wheel-drive utility in a paddock near the intersection of the 309 Road and SH25 near Kaimarama.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 5.55am, the 35-year-old male driver of the 4wd was found lying in the paddock a short distance from the vehicle.
The time of the crash is yet to be determined.
Traffic flow is limited to one lane and is expected to continue to be so for some time while a preliminary crash investigation is carried out.
