Specialists map out fatal crash scene

1 min read

Wellington Police Serious Crash Unit specialists will tonight survey a stretch of Cambridge Terrace as part of the investigation into the fatality of 23-year-old pedestrian Amy Edward-Mintorn.

Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Cotter, Wellington CIB, said the crash unit will from around 8pm spend a couple of hours taking measurements to draw up a survey of the scene.

There will be intermittent lane closures, especially in the Vivian Street/Cambridge Terrance and College Street/Cambridge Terrace intersections during the survey period.

Police are today visiting all businesses on Cambridge and Kent Terraces to seek security camera footage to see if these images will help with the investigation.

He said 15 CIB, uniform and special crash unit investigators are working on the investigation into Amy's tragic death.

Three vehicles - a red Toyota Trueno, a white Subaru coupe and a silver/grey Subaru - have been seized for forensic examination.

"We're making good progress but we still need to talk with people who were in the area around the time Amy was hit and killed," he said. "We're especially interested in hearing from people who were in vehicles travelling behind the three cars that we've seized."
