Extension to roll-out dates of Stab Resistant Body Armour.

1 min read

Police have decided to extend the roll out of Stab Resistant Body Armour (SRBA) to districts by one month.

Acting National Manager of Operations, PNHQ, Inspector Brett Kane says the delivery of SRBA to staff in the Auckland area is progressing well and will be complete by late February.

However, there have been some initial difficulties with the number of garments that are being supplied at any one time by the manufacturer.

"To ensure the smooth roll out of SRBA to other districts it has been decided to extend the roll out timetable by one month."

"This will enable the manufacturer and warehouse to build up the necessary stock of SRBA components so that we can supply sufficient numbers of SRBA at one time to a district," Mr Kane said.

Police are now working to a timetable which will see the national rollout of SRBA completed during May.
