A 70-year-old woman killed in a crash near Waiouru on Tuesday (27 December) has been identified as Carol Dawn Gibson from Lower Hutt.
The crash happened at approximately 2.40pm on The Desert Road. Mrs Gibson was travelling south towards Waiouru when her vehicle crossed the centreline colliding with a second vehicle.
Four occupants of the second vehicle were injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
