As a scene examination is about to commence, Hamilton Police will be seeking to speak to a man recovering in Waikato Hospital today after he was found shot at a Maeroa property overnight.
Waikato Field Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Karl Thornton, said emergency services were called to a Churchill Ave address shortly before 8pm after reports of a man being assaulted.
"Ambulance and Police staff then established the victim, a 34-year-old man, had suffered a gun shot wound and the area around the property was cordoned off.
"The injured man is currently recovering from his injuries, which are not considered life threatening, in Waikato Hospital."
