There have been two good sightings of Kate during that morning, one was within 500 metres of her home as she was starting out on her walk, and another near the Hutt Croquet club on the eastern side of the river at around 9.20 am.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam said Police want to hear from people who saw anyone on the riverbank in the area of where Kate’s body was found.

"People may recall seeing someone who was either acting in an unusual manner or who may have been in the area and could have seen something that could help police with inquiries."
