Canterbury Police investigating ram raids in Hoon Hay, Casebrook and Harewood have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two men.

On Sunday at approximately 4.00am in Hoon Hay, Monday at approximately 3.00 am in Harewood and approximately 3.00am today three Dairies were ram raided and a quantity of cigarettes were stolen.  Police have seized a stolen 1995 Nissan SUV vehicle which they believe was used in at least two of the raids.

A 27 year old man has been charged with Burglary and unlawful taking a motor vehicle in relation to the incidents at Harewood and Casebrook.  A 24 year old man has been charged with Burglary in relation to today’s ram raid in Casebrook.  They will both appear in Christchurch District Court this afternoon (4 November 2014).

Police investigations into the three incidents are continuing.

Police ask anyone who may have been offered cigarettes at a reduced price or witnessed any of the incidents to contact them by calling 03 363 7400 and selecting option 5.
