1 min read

Te Kuiti Police are appealing for information from the public following the serious assault of a man in the Te Kuiti main street on Sunday evening.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Whitehead, Western Waikato CIB said Te Kuiti Police were called to a disorder incident just after 7pm on Sunday night.

“Our officers arrived to deal with some locals fighting near the main street and came across an injured man lying a short distance away on Rora Street.”

“He has suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition.” said Mr Whitehead.

The scene on Rora Street was secured overnight and will be cordoned off today while a scene examination takes place. The road will still be open to one way traffic.

It is too early to say if the two incidents are linked but anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact Te Kuiti Police on (07) 878 1450 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
